Ducati presents its Monster 821

Bolognese firm completes its popular Monster range with the missing step between 796 and 1200. The new 821 fail the basis of her older sister, but its 112 hp limitable for A2 card make it a more balanced option.

Ducati has officially announced the new Monster 821, the mid-displacement version of the third naked generation. With his arrival, now have five “naked” models that the Italian firm makes available in its current catalog.

With around 290,000 Monster sold since production of the original model over 20 years ago, the last Monster keeps the characteristic style of the concept, sharing freestanding tubular chassis, suspension and brakes with the Monster 1200, although conventional rocker instead of the typical single-arm.

The twin Testastretta 11° is the same of the Hyperstrada, i.e., a reduced form of the above 1198 SBK with 821 cc (112 hp and 9.1 kgm at 7,750 rpm). Ducati says 179.5 kg dry. As expected, the Monster 821 also equipped with the latest electronic gadgets 8 levels Ducati Traction Control, ABS, electronic throttle and triple driving mode.

Available in showrooms from July 2014, the new Ducati Monster 821 will be available in two versions: Dark (all black) at a price of €10,490 and another equipped with series with colin cover for passenger in both “Rosso Ducati” (with red chassis and black wheels) as in color “Star White Silk” (with chassis and wheels in black) at a price of €10,990.
